Championship Mentoring: The Rose Medal mentorship program.

Be your best self, become a champion.

Former athletes: Have you ever wanted to make an impact on younger athletes without the commitment of a full time coaching job? Here is your opportunity to do exactly that!

Current athletes: Would you take advantage of an opportunity where a former athlete helps you navigate life challenges? This is the program for you.

Recently retired athletes: Do you need some guidance on what to do now? We have some veterans that can help you with that.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • The Goal: to give athletes the resources and support they need to learn from people who have been in their shoes. This will give them insight on how to lead their team, how to achieve their goals, give them the tools they need to know what’s next after sports, and more.

  • Duration: 6 weeks

  • Format: 1 on 1 meetings once per week for 30 minutes

  • Guide: Weekly suggested questions and conversation topics

  • We are not medical professionals or certified psychologists. We are basing our advice on experiences.

Step By Step Process:

  1. Mentors and Mentees apply and are matched up by the Rose Medal team.

  2. Rose Medal goes over rules and expectations with both the mentor and the mentee separately.

  3. Participants sign documents.

  4. Rose Medal gives each pair their contact information, a brief bio of each other and a copy of their applications.

  5. Rose Medal sends the first week prompt on the mentorship guide to the mentor. Emily also sends the mentorship report form to the mentor.

  6. Mentors reach out to Mentee to schedule a time to chat for their 30 minute meeting.

  7. Mentor sends an email with a filled out Mentorship Report Form to Rose Medal. Mentees will email Rose Medal confirming the date and time that they met.

  8. Mentors and Mentees continue to meet for 6 weeks total. Each meeting will be followed up with an email to Rose Medal. Mentors will continue to send the filled out report form with new information each time. Mentees will send an email confirming the date and time met.

  9. After the 6th meeting and follow up emails are done, Rose Medal will send the post-mentorship survey.

The Support Squad

Rose Medal Founder Emily Watson

Emily Watson played softball at the University of Tulsa. She is the founder of Rose Medal. There will be more mentors added to this list at another date.

Participant’s favorite parts of the program:

I enjoyed just talking about different things for 30 minutes every week. I felt more motivated and in a positive headspace.
— Haley Morgan, mentee
Building connections with the athlete and discussing how sport can apply to life and vice versa.
— Audrey Ours, mentor
Being able to talk about different aspects of my life; relating the way I handle things in my sport to in my life; learning more about myself from talking through how I handle things.
— Logan Mueller, mentee
The opportunity to work with a current athlete who is looking to pursue a similar career path that I am on.
— Francesca Williamson, mentor
